Rooted in Community
At Rooted Rowan, we nurture connection, acceptance, and support for women and families.
In counselling, clients are offered a space of acceptance and support rooted in social work values. The focus is on strengthening connection—to self, relationships, and community—while developing emotional awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of belonging and understanding.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space grounded in social work values of acceptance, dignity, and relational care. I support individuals and families in strengthening connection—with themselves, each other, and their communities—while building emotional awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of belonging.

emotionally safe community spaces
We seek to provide:
emotionally attuned spaces
relational depth
ongoing supportive community
affordable middle-ground support
But there’s a HUGE missing middle between:
“doing okay” and“full crisis.”
That’s where women quietly drown. And that’s exactly where we fit.
About Me
Kristen Alzoubi ( RSW, BSW)
“I support women navigating emotional and relational patterns that leave them disconnected from themselves, helping them rebuild boundaries, self-trust, connection, and emotional safety.”
Including but not limited to:
motherhood
difficult relationships
anxiety/depression symptoms
boundaries
emotional labor
single moms
dysfunctional family systems & support for those with family members in addiction.
My approach to counselling is emotional attuned, supported and deeply person-centered. I am especially passionate about supporting women, mothers, families, and individuals navigating stress, identity shifts, relationships, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. I understand that mental health is not separate from the realities of daily life, family systems, culture, physical health, financial stress, motherhood, or relationships — everything is connected.
I am drawn to creating a practice that feels warm, calming, and human. A space where clients can show up exactly as they are: uncertain, hopeful, overwhelmed, healing, growing, or simply needing somewhere to be accepted.
My work is informed by both clinical training and real-life understanding of the emotional complexity many people carry silently. I value authenticity, emotional insight, self-reflection, and practical support that clients can actually apply in daily life.
I believe therapy should not feel cold or overly clinical. It should feel collaborative, respectful, and empowering.
My Approach
I am a relational, emotionally attuned, women-centered social worker who works at the level of patterns, attachment, and relational safety.
I take a holistic and relational approach to counselling, recognizing that emotional wellbeing is influenced by many factors, including:
Relationships and attachment
Family dynamics
Stress and burnout
Pregnancy and motherhood
Identity and self-worth
Culture and community
Physical and emotional health
Life transitions
I aim to help clients better understand themselves, build emotional resilience, strengthen boundaries, improve relationships, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that may have been neglected in survival mode.
Why Choose a Social Worker for Therapy?
Many people are unfamiliar with the difference between a Registered Social Worker and other counselling professionals(such as Psychologist Psychiatrist Etc..
Social workers are uniquely trained to understand not only mental health symptoms, but also the larger systems affecting a person’s wellbeing — including family dynamics, trauma, relationships, social pressures, caregiving responsibilities, financial stress, culture, community, and access to support.
While some professionals focus primarily on diagnosis or symptom management, social workers are trained to view people within the full context of their lives. This creates a more holistic and practical approach to therapy.
A Registered Social Worker may be a good fit if you are looking for someone who:
Understands both emotional and real-life stressors
Takes a compassionate, non-judgmental approach
Looks at the whole person, not just symptoms
Values collaboration and individualized care
Understands family systems, culture, systemic barriers and relational dynamics
Incorporates practical coping tools alongside emotional processing
Recognizes the impact of trauma, burnout, caregiving, and life circumstances on mental health
Social work is rooted in empathy, advocacy, human connection, and meeting people where they are. Therapy is not about “fixing” you — it is about helping you feel supported, understood, empowered, and more connected to yourself and your life.
I hope to create a space where clients feel comfortable enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully human.
Rooted in empathy and connection.
